Bridal Bouquet Showcase

Bouquet Showcase: 'The Silent Meadow'

"Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels. "

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, in Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie (1847).

I have had the privelage of working on some styled shots of our bridal bouquets with the incredibly talented wedding photographer Belinda McCarthy. Both Belinda and I are based in Shillingstone at the heart of Dorset's Thomas Hardy countryside and loving local we teamed up with Lady Caroline Salt at Shillingstone House and used their timeless and stunning gardens as our backdrop.

This is the first blog post of a small series that will showcase these beautiful images of my designs.

'The Silent Meadow' a bouquet full of sumptious roses, and scent, created as a wild and loose handtie. This bouquet is the perfect combination for any bride looking for a romantic blush palette for her bridal flowers. A rich mix of Quicksand Rose, alongside Upper Secret, English Garden Rose Margaret Merrill and Jana Spray rose. For interest a few just budding Peony Shirley Temple and Digitalis stem. Accented with a mix of English garden mint which gives a heavenly fresh scent, Mock Orange Blossom, Blackberries, White Salvia and a wild mix of meadow grasses.

The open meadows of Shillingstone House are a perfect back drop for this Bouquet, illustrating that wild and natural can also be decadent and sublime.

This natural bouquet is bound with beautiful vintage and natural plant dyed heirloom silk to add that final touch of pure luxury to its personality.

I create wedding bouquets which are bespoke to each of my clients, not copied out of magazine or instagram. Each palette is unique, just as the flower combinations and the ribbon that binds it.
