Relaxed Dorset Wedding at Home for Francesca and Simon.

Towards the end of September I had the joy of working withLiz Linkleter Planners on a relaxed home wedding for Francesca and Simon here in Dorset. Held at Francesca's family home which was just beautiful with acres of beautiful gardens and is the most beautiful of country homes, it was an idyllic place for any wedding.

The brief for the day was simple.. reflect the autumn feel of the garden at home with a simple end of summer feel. With touches of lilacs, creams and dusky pinks and accents of dark burgundy.

I had the joy of picking the last of the sweet peas that Francesca's darling Mummy had grown for the occasion. I also used beautiful Margaret Merril, oodles of Verbena Boranaris, Cosmos, Nigella seed Heads, Poppy Seed Heads, Scabious Seed heads.. actually any seed heads. Grasses, Salvia, Scaboious, Chocolate Cosmos and Abelia.. It was all there.. and nearly all of it locally grown to Dorset.

We created a gorgeous foliage arch for the ceremony, which was due to the rain plan under was cover.. and the team and I filled over 220 bud vases for the long banquet tables in the party marquee. I adored creating Francesca's flower crown, it was a few quiet hours of pure dedicated careful creation that went into making it.

Despite the fact that from dawn to dusk the heavens opened and the rain fell with conviction for every living moment that day - it did not stop this charming family, kick back and have fun and enjoy every moment.

These glorious photos are taken by Fiona Claire who did a splendid job and captured the laughter and love of the day.

"The flowers on our wedding day were absolutely beautiful, completely unique and perfectly encapsulated the wild flower/natural look that I'd imagined. They couldn't have been more perfect for the Dorset country garden setting. They really made the marquee come alive and helped to bring the outside inside. My flower crown was stunning, as were the bouquets and buttonholes - understated yet striking. There were endless compliments from our guests about the flowers! I would highly recommend using Martha and the Meadow if you need flowers for an event." Chess
