Foliage Frenzy for Hannah and Luke
Hannah and I met over Skype while she sat in Hong Kong and I in my Dorset studio.. She was flying back to Dorset where she grew up to marry her Luke and had chosen Upwey House to have her Tipi Wedding so that family and friends could fly in from all points of the world. Simple green and no flowers were the order of the day. With a uber relaxed foliage bouquet and as much foliage, hops and garlands as I could fit in the Tipi it was a lovely and charming wedding to work on. I l

Bridal Bouquet Showcase
Bouquet Showcase: 'The Silent Meadow' "Silently, one by one, in the infinite meadows of heaven, Blossomed the lovely stars, the forget-me-nots of the angels. " Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, in Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie (1847). I have had the privelage of working on some styled shots of our bridal bouquets with the incredibly talented wedding photographer Belinda McCarthy. Both Belinda and I are based in Shillingstone at the heart of Dorset's Thomas Hardy countryside and lov

March Favourites
I thought February was a short month, but it seems that actually March has flown by and now we are on the cusp of the wedding season. It would be nice though to see a little more warmth from the sun - so that we we can really jump into spring. I still seem to be attached to my socks and wooly hat!! March has been about the arrival of spring and Easter - with blues, yellows and a pale palette taking over Instagram. Though it seems I have been reluctant to leave behind the rich

February Favourites
My treat whilst at my desk bashing out emails and spending time working on quotes for wedding flowers, is to head over to one of my favoutie health blogs and check out their Video section. Why is this relevant you may ask? The reason is, every month lovely Madeleine will upload a video of her favourite finds for that month and I find it really enjoyable! I thought what a great idea! Don't worry I am not brave enough to video myself just yet, nor will I be telling you to add B

A Hidden Dorset Gem!
I was lucky enough this morning to have a meeting at Shillingstone House, to chat about weddings, flowers and much more. A characterful house with such a lovely and warm feeling about itself. Lived in by the same family since 1879, it' a beautiful Dorset country house, set in spectacular grounds and gardens. Its charm has to be that it just seems to be the perfect size for a relaxed wedding day. This morning the spring daffodils were out and the gardens were beginning to burs

Lilac Love
I found myself looking upwards at the bare lilac tree in hope this morning. With spring now begining to flourish on her truly spectacular journey - I have to admit there is one blooms arrival I cannot wait; that is Lilac. Its divine scent, delicate individual flowers, dreamy shades and fullness of bloom just does it for me! Syringia is its latin name and I am not suprised that it stands for the symbol of love in the language of flowers, to me it just ouzes romance. Available

Top Tips on choosing your wedding flowers.
I have recently been asked by a few wedding blogs to write some articles on 'What to ask your Florist' when heading out for your wedding flowers consultation. I was given a list by one editor which was so incredibly detailed and fierce it felt like a session of the Apprentice with Alan Sugar. In my eyes a wedding consultation should be a collaboration, an enjoyable part of your wedmin experience, not just a check list of must ask questions. So I felt I wanted to write down my

Martha who?
Here is the first of many a lighthearted post from our studio in Dorset. Today I thought I better introduce you to Martha. Yes that is right I am not her, after all she would struggle to introduce herself to you, because she is a Dog! A chocolate working cocker with the personality of a little human! She is currently sat at my feet keeping them warm. Martha is as much as in love with flowers as I am! The very first day she arrived at the cottage, she ran into the Dahlia patc
